Lawrence Economic Development Corporation is seeking a skilled Grant Writer to join our team. The Grant Writer will be responsible for identifying funding opportunities, developing grant proposals, and managing the grant application process. The ideal candidate will have a passion for economic development, excellent writing skills, and the ability to communicate our organization's mission and impact effectively to potential funders.

Responsibilities:

- Research and identify grant opportunities from government agencies, foundations, and other funding sources that align with our organization's mission and programs.

- Develop compelling grant proposals, including project narratives, budgets, and supporting documentation, in collaboration with program staff and leadership.

- Manage the grant application process from start to finish, including writing, editing, and submitting grant proposals within deadlines.

- Cultivate relationships with potential funders and partners to enhance grant opportunities and support ongoing funding initiatives.

- Maintain accurate records of grant submissions, reporting requirements, and funding outcomes.

- Collaborate with program staff to ensure alignment between grant-funded projects and organizational goals and objectives.

- Stay informed about trends and developments in grant funding opportunities and best practices in grant writing and management.

Qualifications:

- Bachelor's degree in English, Communications, Public Administration, or a related field (Master's degree preferred).

- Minimum of 3 years of experience in grant writing for non-profit organizations, preferably in the field of economic development or community development.

- Strong writing skills with the ability to craft clear, persuasive, and well-organized grant proposals.

- Experience conducting research to identify funding opportunities and understand funder priorities and requirements.

- Excellent project management skills with the ability to manage multiple deadlines and priorities effectively.

- Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to collaborate with internal teams, external partners, and funders.

- Knowledge of budgeting and financial reporting processes related to grant management.

- Familiarity with CRM software and grant management systems is a plus.

A writing sample demonstrating your grant writing experience will be required.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: From $52,500.00 per year
