NYC Private Equity - Investment Management Firm

J Harlan Group is currently conducting a search for an experienced and highly motivated Staff Accountant at a prominent NYC Private Equity - Investment Manager.

An exciting opportunity at this fast growing and dynamic investment organization that is experiencing exceptional growth! The Senior Accountant will be responsible for supporting accounting across the firm. This position requires an ability to work independently in a fast-paced, dynamic environment where attention to detail, analytical skills and strong communication skills are essential.

This individual will be a significant contributor in enabling their vision and helping the organization to grow and improve their businesses. To be successful in this role you must be highly detail oriented and organized, able to meet assigned deadlines and have first class communication and interpersonal skills.

Key Responsibilities:

The Senior Accountant is a critical member of the ITE team, responsible for working with all members of the firm and the senior leadership.
  • Maintain the books and records of various entities
  • Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements and supporting schedules
  • Record monthly journal entries and prepare bank reconciliations
  • Facilitate and complete monthly close procedures
  • Analyze revenues and expenses to ensure they are recorded appropriately on a monthly basis
  • Prepare monthly account reconciliations
  • Assist with bank covenants
  • Assist with financial and tax audits
  • Assist with tax administration
The ideal candidate would have a background including:

  • Public/Private Accounting/Finance experience including relevant experience, with preference given to experience at a Private Equity, Hedge Fund manager, Fund Administrator or Public Accounting organization
  • A strong understanding of accounting theory and practice
Education:
  • Strong academic record and a bachelor's or higher degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field

The salary range is $90,000 - $125,000 plus employees may also be eligible for annual discretionary incentive compensation. Actual compensation within that range will be dependent upon the individual's skills, experience, qualifications, location, and applicable laws.
