Position Overview:We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Billing A/R Specialist to join our team! In this role, you will play a key part in ensuring the financial health of the organization by managing claim processing and revenue benchmarks. The ideal candidate has a strong background in physician billing and extensive experience working with payers and patients to resolve accounts efficiently and professionally.
Key Responsibilities:
Oversee the submission of accurate and timely claims to payers, ensuring compliance with regulatory and contractual guidelines.
Review and correct claim errors to minimize denials and rejections.
Monitor claim status and follow up on unpaid or denied claims.
Investigate discrepancies and coordinate with payers and internal teams to resolve issues.
Prepare and submit appeals with supporting documentation as needed.
Stay updated on state and federal billing regulations (e.g., Medicare, Medicaid, HIPAA).
Ensure compliance with coding standards (ICD-10, CPT, HCPCS) and maintain proper documentation to support claims.
Utilize electronic health record (EHR) and practice management systems for billing and collections.
Identify opportunities for process automation and implement technology to improve efficiency and accuracy.
Maintain compliance with data security and patient privacy regulations.
Answer inbound inquiries on a dedicated billing line in a professional and supportive manner.
Perform other duties as assigned by management.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
Proficiency in medical billing and coding (ICD-10, CPT, HCPCS).
Strong understanding of insurance processes, claim submission, and reimbursement policies (Medicare, Medicaid, commercial payers).
Experience with denial management, appeals, and payment discrepancies.
Familiarity with electronic health records (EHR), practice management systems, and billing software (e.g., Mindbody, Healthcloud, etc.).
Working knowledge of HIPAA compliance and healthcare regulations.
Ability to analyze accounts receivable (A/R) reports and identify trends in denials, payments, and outstanding claims.
Strong problem-solving and investigative skills.
High attention to detail and accuracy in financial reconciliation and claim processing.
Understanding of revenue cycle KPIs and financial performance metrics.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, Outlook).
Ability to operate computers, general office equipment (copier, fax, scanner), and multi-line telephones.
Ability to work collaboratively in a positive and professional manner.

Compensation:The salary for this position is competitive and commensurate with experience. The pay range for this role in the state of Colorado typically falls between $21.00 - $23.00 per hour. Actual compensation may vary based on qualifications, experience, and location within the state.
