This position supports the California Department of Public Health’s (CDPH) mission and strategic plan by performing complex analytical tasks and will provide support services to the Office of Guidance and Policy. The Associate Governmental Program Analyst (AGPA) will support the Office of Guidance and Policy (OG&P) functioning as the fiscal analyst which includes budgets, procurement and contracts, managing program budgets and expenditures, prepares fiscal reports, serves as the Personnel Liaison for the OGP, responds to various drills, develops and coordinates bi-weekly reports as needed for upper management, The AGPA will coordinate meetings (including developing meeting agenda, distributing meeting materials, etc.) and note taking during meetings and act as the OGP web coordinator; manage the OG&P inbox by delegating communications to appropriate staff; and serve as the office Human Resources point of contact assisting with hiring and onboarding staff.
The incumbent works under the direction of the Health Program Manager II (HPM II), Chief of the Office of Guidance and Policy.
The incumbent will work independently, with minimum supervision, in their role. The incumbent should have the ability to prioritize and multi-task in a flexible, fast-paced, and challenging environment while effectively meeting deadlines. A critical thinker with impeccable attention to detail is required. Proficient in Excel, Word, and PowerPoint. Exceptional attendance, punctuality, and dependability.

Telework Information
This position may be eligible for telework up to three (3) days per week and is required to report in-person to the designated headquarters office location a minimum of two (2) days per week. The amount of telework permitted is at the discretion of the Department and is subject to change, consistent with CDPH’s Telework Program. All employees who telework are required to be California residents in accordance with Government Code 14200. Candidates who reside outside of the state of California may be interviewed; however, the selected candidate must have a primary residency in the state of California prior to appointment (and continue to maintain California residency) as a condition of employment. Failure to meet this requirement may result in the job offer being rescinded.
Business travel may be required , and reimbursement considers an employee’s designated headquarters office subject to regulations and bargaining unit contract provisions. All commute expenses to the designated headquarters office will be the responsibility of the selected candidate.
