Position Summary:


Winning Pathways seeks an experienced and passionate Grant Writer to join our team. The Grant Writer will play a key role in advancing our mission by researching, writing, and submitting grant proposals to secure funding for our programs. The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of foundations and company giving programs, have excellent communication skills, and a track record of successful grant acquisition. This role will collaborate with program staff, finance, and leadership to align funding opportunities with our strategic objectives and ensure sustainable support for our initiatives.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Grant Research and Identification: Identify potential grant opportunities from federal, state, local, and private sources that align with Winning Pathways’ mission and goals.
  • Grant Proposal Development: Write clear, structured, and compelling grant proposals, letters of inquiry, and related documents to secure funding.
  • Collaboration and Communication: Work closely with program and finance teams to gather necessary information, build budgets, and ensure proposals align with both programmatic needs and funder guidelines.
  • Grant Management and Reporting: Track submitted proposals and provide regular updates on status, maintain comprehensive records of funding, and oversee grant reporting to ensure compliance with funder requirements.
  • Relationship Building: Cultivate and maintain relationships with key grant makers, including foundation program officers and other stakeholders.
  • Continuous Improvement: Keep current on best practices in grant writing and nonprofit fundraising, adapting strategies to enhance Winning Pathways' funding potential.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in English, Communications, Nonprofit Management, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 2 years of relevant experience in grant writing, with a proven track record of securing funding for nonprofit organizations.
  • Exceptional writing, editing, and research skills with the ability to communicate complex ideas effectively.
  • Familiarity with grant writing for children’s education, disability support, or community service initiatives preferred.
  • Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple deadlines.
  • Proficiency with grant management and research tools.
