Position Summary:

We are seeking a dedicated  Financial Analyst  to join our real estate investment team at our office located in  Irvine, CA . This position works closely with leadership to establish tools, data sets, and standard reports to support department needs. The candidate must have the ability to logically think through an issue and create a new or enhance an existing process. The successful candidate is an innovative thinker who can be presented with a small idea or problem and turn it into actionable solution.

Responsibilities:

  • Design, create and deliver timely and accurate standard periodic reporting and ad-hoc reporting on various operational and financial metrics, providing analysis and interpretation as required
  • Assist with the preparation and review of monthly and quarterly operational and financial reporting packages
  • Analyze current and historical financial results, perform variance analysis of key metrics, identify trends, and recommend actions
  • Support senior leadership team and department leaders with in-depth analysis
  • Assist with the preparation of the annual operating budget 
  • Prepare, analyze, and distribute budget vs. actual results
  • Develop and track key operational and financial performance metrics against the company’s strategic objectives
  • Assist in the revenue and cost analysis process; provide trends and forecasts; explain variances; and recommend actions
  • Assist in various efforts to improve the efficiency surrounding the data collection and reporting by developing automated processes and applications
  • Participate on special projects and perform other tasks as assigned
  • Cross-trained in duties as assigned

Requirements

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Economics, Accounting, Business, or related field.
  • 1-3 years of experience as a financial analyst for affordable housing, asset management, financial analysis, or related field is preferred
  • Exposure to financial reporting, budgeting, or forecasting
  • Knowledge of Yardi and Real Estate industry and terminology is preferred
