Job Overview :

Nooks is seeking a Finance Manager with a proven track record of success in finance and accounting. This role will report directly to the CFO to inform and oversee all financial aspects of the business including FP&A, budgeting, cost management, reporting, and treasury. As a core part of the Nooks leadership team, the Finance Manager will provide actionable insight to the c-suite, driving corporate strategy and establishing cross-functional partnerships across verticals to support financial operations.

The ideal candidate has progressive experience in corporate finance and/or accounting roles, with demonstrated ability in financial analysis and planning, budgeting, and reporting. This candidate has a strong background in financial modeling with proficiency in MS Excel and accounting software (e.g., Quickbooks / QBO). The candidate also has a strong understanding of core finance concepts including development of pro formas, investment analysis, and capital structuring. Finally, the candidate should demonstrate excellent communication and interpersonal skills as well as the ability to adapt to evolving priorities and deadlines in a fast-paced, hypergrowth company.

Position Responsibilities:

  • Develop and maintain financial models to support cash flow projections, budgeting, and forecasting
  • Analyze project feasibility, profitability, and risk factors to inform growth strategy and expansion to new markets / sites
  • Provide actionable insight to c-suite regarding financial strategies and investment opportunities
  • Collaborate with project teams to develop budgets and track expenses throughout the project lifecycle
  • Develop, refine, and implement cost control measures to optimize project profitability and identify cost-saving opportunities
  • Prepare timely and accurate financial reports, including P&L, CFS, and balance sheet, for internal and external stakeholders including Board of Directors
  • Ensure compliance with accounting standards, tax regulations, and other financial requirements
  • Coordinate with external auditors and tax advisors to facilitate audits and tax filings
  • Manage cash flow, liquidity, and banking relationships
  • Implement strategies to optimize cash utilization and minimize financing costs
  • Monitor debt financing activities including debt service management and covenant compliance

Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):

  • Bachelor's degree in finance
  • Proficiency in MS Excel and accounting software 
  • Ability to adapt to evolving priorities and deadlines in a fast-paced, hyper-growth company
  • Excellent problem-solving, communication, and organization skills
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities simultaneously 

Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):

  • CPA or related certification is a plus
